Made it so at times tougher non boss mobs could one-turn kill one of my party. So even though you will have more skills available and total actions available you end up being squishier individually. I have only slightly more armor points (total across all characters) than my 4 person party with good gear, or 2 lone wolves with great gear at the same level. In my 6 person party game, at times, I'm forced to have a few pieces of out leveled gear on each just so they all had something. But this also helps keep the balance later. (or if you build an "imperfect" build like I like to do and use two types of gear). If you end up looking for 4 sets of mage gear it is VERY difficult to find a "good" set for each. With 6 players gear can get sparse, especially if it's not split 2 str, 2 fin, 2 int. The 6 player mod is fun, but remember resources are finite in this game. You are suppose to manage your builds under somewhat constraint party.īesides, I'd say 4 char party should keep you busy enough. I don't recommend mod it to 6 char party, because it will become unbalance (overpower).Ħ characters will have too many attack turns and too many skills to abuse. ![]() I haven't had a shadowblade char though, so I could be wrong. I'd say Shadowblade fit as companion character, 'cus he can move into better position (even start invisible) while the main character is locked into conversation. You don't start at best position as an assassin, you had to spend AP to go around to backstab. Because usually you want to start conversation by your main, which potentially would trigger a fight. Imho, I don't think shadowblade would be good main character. Just had to accept it that there are stuffs I'll never find out. I also don't tend to play campaign more than once. Therefore you can't really expected to experience it all with one go. I'm almost complete my 1st playthrough with an elf as main, then team with red prince, dwarf and Ifan.Įvery characters, even act as companion, have quite unique side-story, and sometime take lead in some conversations. If you're only planning to play once, then the 6 man party makes sense, I imagine it would make the game easier but there are also increased difficulty mods if you need that. All their best damage is done from behind or using rogue skills but supplementing those with a summoned monster, invisibility, and heal, are quite useful.ģ. A properly built rogue should be able to take out (incapacitate or kill) nearly any single target on the battlefield in a single round by mid level. My Sebille was a shadowblade and this was how I opened every fight. It's a nice addition to the game but doesn't change much.Ģ. The way romances work in the game, there isn't much different in your interactions until after the "romance" scene and then very little afterward. Then the second time I did the opposite (played as Lohse and Romanced Sebille) and felt the same way. In my first playthrough I was Sebille and romanced Lohse - I really enjoyed that, it was well written and just what I wanted with a Lohse romance. If you want to Romance Lohse, then don't play as her, though you can always choose someone else to romance as her and experience it from that direction. in fact, even if you're playing it again you should because you'll get something unique out of each playthrough if you rotate through Origins.ġ.a. If you're only planning on playing the game once, then yes, you should most certainly play as an Origin character. If I play on tactician difficulty, will this balance out the advantage of having 6 characters in my party? I want the game to be challenging enough to make me think out my tactics without being impossible.ġ. ![]() I really like 6 character parties, so I downloaded the mod that allows you to do so. Is this a viable strategy in this game?ģ. I'm thinking of making a shadowblade as my main character who can teleport behind enemies that are being tanked for backstabiness. That said, would it make more sense overall to play AS her so I can experience her quest more fully or NOT play as her so I can romance her and be exposed to more of her unique dialog?Ģ. I have watched each Origin character's intro backstory video, and I found Lohse the most interesting and charming of the characters, and with the Origin story that interested me the most, and also the most likely I would romance if it's a possiblity. I read that you should play an Origin character first. Just picked up this game, and generally speaking I'm not the type of person who plays through a game more than once, so I want to make the most of my first play through.
